In the Wednesday session, each person was assigned to a different group. We were divided in 17 topics, I was assigned to the emotional totem group. In class, I met my team members, and we saw the materials related to our design topic (the project we designed before). We summarized the key points of previous design schemes and classified them. We did research through these points, and each team member made a design plan. After this, we will be everyone's design scheme together, made a new preliminary design scheme.

six people sit on a table to discuss a topic of them, we need to list related point words of this topic. For example, we need to think about, what kind of target audience they are designed for. The students discussed the problem together and listed the results of the discussion on the paper. With the discussion on different topics from different perspectives, we got to know more about the content of related topics and the meaning of the design, which gave us a better understanding of the future design topics.

Ideation and presentation

This week, everyone presented their design ideas. Many design schemes are very novel and interesting. People's ideas are not only limited to the creativity of science and technology but also make the interaction between people and objects more interesting, which can attract people to use.

After the presentation, everyone got different feedback, which was very helpful for design improvement. For example, my design solution is more about thinking about how to operate in different ways. In my previous design, I really only wanted one way to operate, which was too limited.

Soldering Induction

In this week, I have learned soldering. This is new knowledge for me, which attracts me to explore this field. Although I learnt some circuit knowledge, I just know how the circuits are connected. In this study, the tutor explained the connection of the circuit. In the process of connecting the circuit, I failed many times, sometimes because the wire was connected to the wrong connection port, and sometimes because the positive and negative terminals were connected wrong. But after many failures, I finally connected the circuit.

After learning about circuit connections, we learned about welding methods by watching videos, and our tutor also made a demonstration for us. When welding, the melting point needs to reach 35 degrees. We need to extract molten iron after melting the wire and use molten iron to connect each small part of the circuit together. In this process, the difficulty is that each welding contact can not be wrong, we need to connect the connection of the wire welding together.

In the whole process, I learned the connection between the circuit and the name of each part. Most importantly, I experienced welding technology in this study, which enriched my knowledge.

How to use it

This cube will detect the heartbeat rhythm of people and analyze people's mood through the heartbeat rhythm system. This cube will play suitable music for people to listen based on their different moods, which can relieve people's pressure.

WHO AM I

My name is Iris, I am studying interaction design. The major is very different from my previous major. Before I am studied industrial design during my undergraduate years. I like to listen to music, which is my hobby. When I have any spare time, I like to take a one-day tour during the holidays. I like to be exposed to different and new things, which is why I chose interaction design as my major. In the process of learning interaction design, I was exposed to new knowledge at every stage.

What I hope to achieve

Before, I can only design product on a laptop, I hope to create a real product in this course, also I will enhance my code skills and design skills. This course is very different from other courses, we only create some apps or webs. However, we need to learn how to link code and products, we will This course will be exposed to different interaction methods, and I hope to explore interaction design in more depth during future courses.
